Busy Weekend

I have been very busy this weekend. I ironed, cut, stitched, spray painted, and cleaned. No, it was not all for the same project!

I finished my first birdie stitches block. I am having so much fun. I love the birdies and the colors.

I make “Lovies” for Neighbors Helping Newborns. Lovies are two 10 inch squares of flannel sewn together, turned, and stitched closed. They are used in the NICU at hospitals in NH and MA. The mom puts one against her skin to put her scent on it and then it is placed next to the preemie so the bonding process can begin between baby and mom. This picture is the huge pile of squares that I cut today to make future Lovies.

The last picture  I will share with you today is of my daughter Julie admiring herself in her new hot pink mirror. I found this old mirror in my basement. It was painted gold….yuck! Julie and I went to the paint store and she picked out the brightest shade of pink that she could find. She loves to play dress up so this mirror is the perfect addition for a pretty princess.
